COMPANY PROFILE (May 2008)
The AB Medical Group was founded in May 1995. The company was organised for medical technology business in Baltic republics of Estonia and Latvia. Through close contact with the medical and scientific communities in these countries we offer a selection of high quality medical products and services. AB Medical Service was established in 1997 as a daughter company of AB Medical Group. In 2004 we separated the two companies and since then AB Medical Service Ltd has been offering its services as an independent service organisation. Both companies still have a close co-operation. In 1998 AB Medical Group Estonia began offering a planning service for new and renovated healthcare facilities. 12/99 BVQI awarded ISO 9001 certificate nr. 64106 to our group. We were the first medical company at the Baltic's certified according to ISO on sales, maintenance and repair of medical devices. AB Medical Group Estonia and AB Medical Service are incorporated and registered in Estonia.
FACILITIES: Our headquater is located in new building located 2 km from Tallinn airport. The office is equipped with contemporary communications, office, warehouse and network equipment.
PEOPLE: AB Medical has a staff of 23 people in Estonia and 10 in Latvia. People in Estonia are divided as follows: 5 in sales, 9 in service, 6 in administration/secretariat, 3 in management. Here we would like to emphasise high level of our personnel. One has graduated from St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University and worked as chief specialist in ministry of health care of Estonia for one year; one have graduated from Tallinn Technical University, he has also studied biomedical engineering 2 years in Tampere Technical University, Finland; two have graduated from Tartu University. All of us have participated in several courses in different manufacturing companies.
BUSINESS AND CUSTOMERS: AB Medical Group sells, offers services and supports as a Distributor of variety of medical product lines. This includes equipment for operating theatres, intensive care units, complete sterilization and disinfection systems, hospital furniture. High technology instrumentation and systems are complemented by associated hospital supplies items and consumables. In parallel with sales we organise and sponsor workshops related to the product lines in their clinical applications. The company´s customer´s today include major hospitals in Estonia and Latvia. The currently still socialised healthcare system is essentially a single payer system with purchases budgeted and funded by government. Important part of our business is service and maintenance. We have service contracts with all major hospitals in Estonia and Latvia. We also maintain Swiss Government donation to 7 hospitals in Estonia ja 1 in Latvia. (central sterilisation system).
We are proud to emphasize, that our company has won medical technology planning in new hospitals and in different renovation projects. Pärnu County Hospital medical technology project. Riga Maternity Hospital-, Latvian Oncology Centre,Gailezers Hospital, Tallinn Children Hospital-, East Tallinn Central Hospital sterilisation department reconstruction are completely done by our group.
